What is TMS
Research studies show that overall brain activity is significantly lower in patients with major depressive disorder. Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation is an FDA-approved, non-invasive non-medication treatment to increase neural activity. It involves directing magnetic fields to the portion of the brain most associated with mood regulation. Patients are awake and alert during treatment, describing only mild discomfort with very few side effects.
