Serving Vancouver And Beyond
At Pacific Phoenix TMS, we understand how it feels to be trapped by depression. For years, our mental health clinic has helped those struggling with various mood disorders who had found little to no relief with antidepressants. Using transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) therapy, we send MRI-strength magnetic waves to the brain's left prefrontal cortex. Other services we offer are Esketamine (SPRAVATO™) for treatment-resistant depression, veteran-specific mental assistance, and addiction recovery psychiatric services.

Elia Gonzalez-Rodriguez, M.D.
Dr. Gonzalez earned her medical degree via Fifth Pathway Certification from New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY.
After training at New York Medical College, she completed a family medicine internship at the University of Connecticut and afterward completed a psychiatry residency at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle, WA. There she served as Chief Resident at the VA Medical Center during her last year in training. She is board-certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Dr. Gonzalez believes it is particularly important to take time to know her patients to learn how to best help them. She believes each patient responds best to an individualized treatment plan tailored to their needs, which includes but is not limited to: medications management, counseling, therapy, and non-pharmacological treatments. She is committed to providing evidence-based treatment options for multiple psychiatric diagnoses, including mood disorders and substance use disorders.
Dr. Gonzalez also practices evidence-based medicine to treat depression in patients who have not responded to antidepressant medication treatment. She provides innovative, non-invasive NeuroStar Advanced Therapy®. Patients who have not demonstrated response to medications need options like NeuroStar Advanced Therapy®, which can improve their quality of life by achieving significant improvement or remission of depression symptoms. Current clinical evidence shows that as patients attempt more antidepressant medications, the likelihood of achieving remission declines while the likelihood of patients discontinuing treatment due to adverse events increases. We are looking forward to offering patients with treatment-resistant depression a chance to have their lives back with TMS therapy.
Dax Motis, Physician's Assistant
Dax obtained his general medical training through Rosalind Franklin College of Health Professions, rotating through some of the most underserved areas of Chicago and Indiana. For the past four years, he has served as a psychiatric physician assistant at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center in rural Southern Oregon, the only inpatient facility from Eugene, OR to Redding, CA, and has also served as a preceptor for OHSU’s physician assistant program. In his free time, he likes to read, ride bikes, play with his dog, and spend time with his family. When the opportunity arose to join the team at Pacific Phoenix TMS, he jumped at the chance to serve the community he grew up with and work alongside an esteemed regional expert, Dr. Gonzalez.
Dax is passionate about centering client confidence and empowerment. He resources clients to navigate difficulty with greater strength and resilience and supports the journey of rebuilding a sense of choice in an unpredictable world. Dax can support the navigation of medication and/or alternative therapies in alignment with evidence-based practices, addressing experiences involving various psychiatric diagnoses, complex trauma, and substance use.
