Dr. Hneich is a board-certified adult and geriatric psychiatrist with over a decade of experience in inpatient and outpatient settings. He brings expertise and enthusiasm to the care of patients with major depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, and neurocognitive disorders. Dr. Hneich has an emphasis in destigmatizing care for mental health and ensuring his patients understand the science and indications of their medications, which can help avoid misinformation found online.
Dr. Hneich completed undergraduate and medical school at the University of Virginia, and completed his psychiatry residency and geriatric psychiatry fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina. While in residency, he was fortunate to have a significant portion of his clinical care coordinated with the Veterans Affairs hospital located nearby, providing him with rigorous experience and passion for treating veterans with PTSD and depression, whose service ranged from the Vietnam War, to the Gulf War and OEF/OIF.
Dr. Hneich has always had a thirst for knowledge and advancing his skills and has maintained a strong interest in interventional psychiatry modalities. He has treated and stabilized patients with electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), and has a strong interest in other interventional modalities including ketamine and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS).
Originally from the Eastern Seaboard, Dr. Hneich moved to the Pacific Northwest over 5 years ago and enjoys the breathtaking landscapes the area has to offer. His first hike in Mount Rainier National Park was a dream come true. He enjoys travel, history, languages, soccer, F1 racing, and has been an avid drummer and guitarist for over 20 years.
